Firewood Carrier Utility Mat (Upcycled)Updated 7 months ago

From hauling logs to snoozing dogs, the upcycled Firewood Carrier Utility Mat does it all. Here’s everything you need to know about this multi-purpose car camping mat.

How To Set Up The Firewood Carrier Utility Mat

For the most part, setting up the Firewood Carrier Utility Mat is a straightforward affair. Just roll it out like a mini yoga mat on dirt or dust, granite or gravel, and you’re good to go.

How To Use The Firewood Carrier Utility Mat As A Mat

There are countless ways to use the Firewood Carrier Utility Mat–and we’re finding new ones every camping trip! Use it as a welcome mat, changing mat, wetsuit removal station, dog bed, you name it!

How To Use The Firewood Carrier Utility Mat As A Firewood Carrier

Lay the mat flat on the ground. Pile logs on top of the mat until you’re pleased, or simply can’t carry any more. Grab the webbing strap handles and haul away!

Pro Tip: Hauling firewood doesn’t need to be an awkward, two-handed affair anymore. If you load the Firewood Carrier Utility Mat to partial capacity, you’ll be able to haul a heavy load with a single hand. This leaves your other hand free for Koozie-clad beers, gripping the leash of excited camp dogs, etc.

How To Clean The Firewood Carrier Utility Mat

Mike Rowe once spent a week shadowing our Firewood Carrier Utility Mat for his Discovery Channel show, Dirty Jobs. Jokes aside, the multi-purpose mat is designed to haul wood and hang in the dirt–things are going to get messy from time to time. Not to worry. Crafted from the same 300-denier Oxford nylon as our award-winning mattresses, the Firewood Carrier Utility Mat is easy to clean.

  • For minor dirt, dust, mud, bark, etc., hit it with a damp cloth.
  • For major dirt, dust, mud, bark, etc., dunk it in a lake or river if you’re on the road. If you’re at home, bust out the hose and set it to max power. Or, if you don’t have a suitable outdoor cleaning area, bust out the rubber duckies and give the Firewood Carrier Utility Mat a bath. If you do give it a bath, shake it out to make sure no stubborn sticks or splinters go down the drain.
  • For pesky stains, scrub it down with Formula 409®, BioClean™ All-Purpose Cleaner, or another general household cleaner.
  • Whatever you do, avoid using household cleaners that contain bleach, as they can stain the fabric.
  • Always let the Firewood Carrier Utility Mat dry before storage.
